All interested in learning more about Iowa's native landscape and the practices that have transformed Iowa to its present state are welcome to attend.

Franklin County Recorder, Toni Wilkinson, is joining the Department of State in celebrating National Passport Day in the USA 2010, by hosting a Passport Fair in Hampton, IA on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Franklin County Courthouse, to provide passport information to U.S. Citizens and accept passport applications.
If you are planning international travel, this is your opportunity to apply for your passport and have your photos taken outside of regular business hours.
U.S. Citizens must present a valid passport book when entering the United States by air. U.S. Citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.
When coming to the Saturday event you will need to bring the following items:
1. A completed application (use black ink only) to be signed at the Recorder’s Office. These may be requested from the Recorder’s Office prior to the Saturday event, or printed from www.travel.state.gov.
2. A certified birth certificate or previously issued passport. Please check carefully to ensure you have a certified record. A birth record from a hospital or the Census Bureau will not be accepted by the Passport Agency. If you need assistance in obtaining a certified birth certificate please call the Franklin County Recorder’s office for assistance prior to this application event.
3. A current Driver’s License is required for identification of applicants age 16 or older.
4. Both parents with their Driver’s Licenses will need to be present at time of application with applicants under age 16.
5. Proof of parental consent for the passport of those aged 16 to 18, which may be in the form of a parent’s check as payment of passport fees.
6. Two checks or money orders. One check to: US Department of State for $75 per passport book or $20 per passport card for those 16 and older, or $60 per passport book or $10 per passport card for those under age 16. The second check to: Franklin County Recorder for $25 per application plus $10 per person if you will be having your photo taken at the Recorder’s Office.
