Rural Recycling in Franklin County

The following information applies only to those living in the unincorporated areas of Franklin County who have not contracted for garbage service.

 

Rural recycling is the second Saturday of each month from 8:00am to 11:30am. Please bring all recyclable materials to the Conservation Shop located at 1002 Central Ave. W in Hampton, Iowa. All recycled materials must be in containers with lids (not in plastic garbage bags). Household garbage is not allowed.

Plastic, tin, and glass items may be combined into one container.
All paper products, magazines, etc. may be combined into one container.

 
Hazardous Materials

Hazardous materials should be disposed at the Landfill of North Iowa in Clear Lake, Iowa. These materials may include such items as:

  • paint
  • oil
  • cleaners
  • lawn chemicals
  • electronics (computers)
