Franklin County Planning and Program Development

The primary activities of this department include appointments to represent the Franklin County on various Boards and Commissions, Inter-Departmental Planning, and working on grants, including Franklin County's Community Betterment Grant.

The department is seeing an increase in requests from other county departments for input and training in the areas of short-term and long-term budgeting and long-range planning. The Franklin County Board of Supervisors has asked that all departments provide them with 5-Year Plans and so far these have been in the form of Capital Improvement/Expenditure Plans. Some departments have other state or federal planning and reporting requirements and follow those procedures as well.

It the goal of this department, with the approval of the Board of Supervisors, to work with various departments to standardize the long-range planning activities to incorporate a plan such as this with ongoing quality improvement activities.
