The Franklin County Sheriff's Office - Civil Division is responsible for processing and serving civil papers such as original notices (small claims and district), evictions, subpoenas, orders, wage and bank garnishments, levies, writs attachments, sheriff sales, condemnations, etc. Dictations or directions must accompany all paperwork stating whom and where to serve the civil paper. A billing address and telephone number also need to be included. The Civil Division is located at the Sheriff's Office in the Courthouse and is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The office is closed on legal holidays recognized by Franklin County. Documents received after 3:30pm may be processed on the next business day.
